Home Cooking: Chocolate Silk Pie

This super yummy pie is a favorite at our house during the holidays. I promised my son I would give him the recipe so he can keep the tradition going at his house. Here you go Jake...

Chocolate Silk Pie

3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1/2 pint heavy whipping cream
2 Tblsp powdered sugar
Graham cracker pie shell

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well, then add vanilla and chocolate. Use mixer to blend until thick. Pour into graham cracker pie shell.

Refrigerate 15 minutes before adding whipped cream to which 2 Tblsp powdered sugar has been added. Sprinkle lightly with grated chocolate. Chill until serving time.

Music Muse: The Temptations Greatest Hits

If I had to pick my top, number one favorite album (CD) of all time, The Temptations Greatest Hits would be it! In my humble opinion it is the best music to ever hit the airwaves! Every song is a classic to me since I grew up hearing it on my Mom's stereo (she had great taste in music).

Every song on it is incredible and makes my spirit dance ~ but I am a bit partial to My Girl because my husband and I slow danced for the first time to this sing and now, of course, it is "our song". My husband and I play this CD sometimes on "date night". It makes me dance, and sing and adds such an element of fun to the evening. Some music has a way of doing that. I also really like Don't Look Back ~ Peter Tosh does a great version of this also but the Temptation's version is still the BEST!
